SDG Group & Generali Deutschland launch one of the most revolutionary innovations in preventive healthcare

Monday November 16, 2020

24Milan, 24 November 2020 – SDG Group, global management consulting firm, having a leading vision in the practices of Business Analytics, Corporate Performance Management and Advanced Business Solutions, is pleased to announce the collaboration with Generali Deutschland  the German business unit of Europe’s largest insurance Group, resulted in the development of VitalSigns&Care: an innovative app, unique in the market, that enables users to self-monitor their own vital parameters through nothing else but their smartphone camera and get personalized care support. The app will provide users also with additional access to a vast range of assistance and prevention services.

Generali VitalSigns&Care is able to measure four vital parameters which are key to track one’s health status: blood oxygen saturation, respiratory rate, heart rate and heart rate variability.

Users will just look at their smartphones’ camera for up to 2 minutes and, through a technology called ‘remote photoplethysmography’, the camera will record the light reflected by the blood vessels flowing beneath the skin and a unique combination of light signal processing and AI will convert the records into highly accurate real-time vital signs measurements. At the moment of its launch, planned during the first quarter 2021, the app will provide users with additional access to a vast range of assistance and prevention services. After the launch in Germany, Generali will explore options to extend the geographic scope to other markets.

“I am really proud to see that even in the unprecedented time we are living right now, we have been able to collaborate with Generali on a real extraordinary project. This project is a unique innovation in the field of digital preventive healthcare and artificial intelligence. Our partnership with Generali is fully aligned with our mission – inspiring innovation and supporting our clients, their clients and the whole community by taking full advantage of the advanced analytics” – said Luca Quagini, CEO of SDG Group.

“We will introduce a disruptive innovation in the field of insurance for preventive healthcare and assistance,” said Giovanni Liverani, CEO of Generali Deutschland. “As a trail-blazer in the global insurance market, Generali Deutschland will launch Generali VitalSigns&Care, a state-of-the art app available for download on anyone’s smartphone and capable of testing – just by using the camera – important vital parameters as well as enabling users to access assistance and prevention services when needed. With this new digital solution, we put advanced analytics and Artificial Intelligence to the service of our customers, in a way that is affordable, fast and easy. A new tool to promote prevention, which, as we learnt during the current Covid emergency, is of paramount importance, and to protect our customer’s life and health.”
